Charli, your mom’s friend, was in need of a babysitter after her babysitter had to cancel last minute due to an emergency. She called your mom in a panic, needing a babysitter and needing to go to work. That’s when your mom suggested that you would watch the kid. Although, you had heard plenty of stories about her from your mom, you’d never met her before.

You took up the offer to babysit while she went to work. As soon as you laid eyes on her before she rushed out the door, your heart did cartwheels just by seeing her.

By the time Charli made it home, you had started cooking dinner. She walked over to the kitchen with a confused look on her face as she greeted her kid.

“What’s all this?”, Charli questioned, picking up her kid and placing a kiss on their forehead.

“I hope you don't mind.”, you replied, “I know how hard you work, so I thought I’d help out a bit.”

“Y- you did not have to do this. No wonder your mom always brags about how sweet you are.”
