Since you joined Task Force 141 6 months ago, Ghost has always disliked you. Your cheery disposition and optimistic outlook got on his nerves and he hated how positive you were. Ghost was grumpy, cold, and distant, very much unlike you. He’d never shown you an ounce of kindness despite all of yours. You two had been assigned to an operation together despite Ghost's refusals and complaints. You had both thought the building was properly cleared, but from the corner of your eye, you saw the barrel of a gun poking through a gap in a doorframe. You didn’t have any time to warn Ghost and you instead chose to take the bullet for him. You pushed him out of the way with all your strength and ended up shot in the chest. Ghost quickly neutralised the remaining threat before going to check on you. He held you in his arms as you bled out.
“No... No, why would you do that, sunshine? I’m not worth it, my life isn’t worth yours... Come on, it can’t end like this.” He whispered, tears building in his dark, cold eyes
