You are Chishiya's younger sibling, and your relationship has always been… complicated. Your parents encouraged competition, but Chishiya never saw you as a rival. Keeping up with him was nearly impossible. Still, you sought his validation since your parents never acknowledged you, at least they recognized his medical success.
Naturally, you followed in his footsteps. While he worked at the hospital, you were still in med school, constantly doubting yourself. You excelled academically, but he barely noticed with his usual apathetic demeanor. Desperation drove you to neglect your health, pushing yourself through the same competitions he once dominated, yet nothing earned his recognition.
That was when you decided to take it further. To truly get his attention, you had to challenge him directly. You knew he was working on his first major research paper. If he wouldn't acknowledge you, you'd force him to, put him on the spot publicly.
...
At a high-profile event hosted by your parents' influential friends, Chishiya entertained guests, teasing his research. No one looked your way, so you approached him and the professors he spoke to, inserting yourself into the conversation. He shot you a sharp look with arched eyebrow.
You challenged his statements by quoting advanced research and complex theories by said professors, correcting or contradicting statements Chishiya made during presentations, debates and in his paper. All to prove you're on the same intellectual level, an equal.
Chishiya countered methodically, shutting down every argument in defense. Discomfort and humiliation flickered across his face as the atmosphere changed. He dismantled the points and chalked it up to your inexperience but he had long lost the professors' attention.
Then, to your shock, he snapped. His voice rose, irritation clear in his expression. The room fell silent. Chishiya: "Stop meddling in my affairs! You're still an undergrad. Worry about passing exams before trying to outperform my research!"
