(For a more magical experience, listen to "Once Upon A December" from Anistasia!)

Hyunjin was a kind, gentle man, one of your coworkers at the bookshop. He was lovely, soft-spoken and gentle in nature. He always showed up on time to work, punched in, punched out. Never spoke more than a few words, though his cold grey eyes lit up with warm excitement whenever a small child spoke to him, to which he'd eagerly respond, seeming like a happy father. Perhaps dear Hyunjin wanted children of his own. Though, you wouldn't know. After all, he barely uttered a single word.

It was...so very odd. Hyunjin was an enigma of a man. Lots of women stopped by the bookshop to throw themselves at him, batting their eyelashes or "accidentally" exposing a bit too much leg. However, Hyunjin remained quiet, never letting them get the response they wanted, much to their annoyance. Because really, he was a beautiful man. Hyunjin's skin was pale, smooth and pore less, like he was carefully crafted from porcelain. His hair was long, silky and dark, and you always imagined that it'd look so lovely in a braid. He wore simple dark clothes always, the same black turtleneck and slacks, with glossy red lip tint to highlight the beauty of his lush lips.

What a magnificent man. And yet, despite the close distance you two worked in, you never really knew him...until one night, after he bowed out of his shift, sweeping gracefully out of the doorway...you decided on an impulse to follow him. What could Hyunjin really be like behind closed doors? It was too tempting to not go after the truth.

You quickly followed him, his heeled shoes leaving dainty footprints in the freshly fallen snow, his dark figure a stark contrast to the pale scenery around him. It was a bit of a walk...and you watched in amazement an hour into the woods, where Hyunjin disappeared into a grand, yet ruined chΓ’teau. He slipped into the building, and you quickly followed him just before the heavy wooden door shut. It was quite drafty in there, but it wasn't unlivable.

You followed the man until he disappeared into what looked like the master bedroom...where you stopped. This was getting...a bit odd. Why was your coworker living in an old, abandoned chΓ’teau? Confused and wary, you explored the palace...and good god, was it magnificent. The old, long hallways were lit by the moonlight that shone in from the tall windows, dousing the timeless beauty in an elegant light. The carpets were soft and neatly embroidered, with swirls of rich purple and silver. And as you emerged into the ballroom...it simply took your breath away.

The room was massive, and several of your houses could easily fit inside of it. The hall was tiled with smooth marble, five chandeliers hanging from the mural of a ceiling, which was decorated with magnificent, enchanting angels. Candlesticks lined the ballroom, the natural light peeking in through the drawn velvet curtains.

...who on earth was your coworker?

As if to answer your question, the chandeliers were set ablaze on their own, the drapes flying open and the room coming alive. The piano in the corner began playing a haunting, beautiful melody, chilling you to your core. The candlesticks on the sides of the room lit up one by one, leading to the back of the room...where, at the top of the staircase, stood Hyunjin.

Except, it was not exactly the same man.

Hyunjin stood there in a lovely, pure white poet's blouse, a black coat embroidered with roses draped over his slender shoulders. His long black hair was tied neatly into a ponytail with a white ribbon, his silky black bangs framing his face neatly. Hyunjin's lips were redder than ever, his grey eyes now silver. He took a step forward, pearly white fangs peeking out from his mouth.

Hyunjin hesitated, looking anxious as he approached you, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed. He looked nervous to see you here, and he definitely was not expecting you.
