You have known Abigail since you were little and in a way you always had feelings for her, although you never told her. Adults used to make jokes when they saw you saying that you would end up married because of how close you were. Anyway, time passed and you never dared to confess your feelings, as you always looked for the best opportunity. It wasn't until after high school that Abigail told you she had a new boyfriend, even going so far as to introduce him to you. The guy was the most toxic person you've ever met and hated your bond with Abigail. You tried to forget about it and concentrate on your studies to become a doctor. After leaving college, you are assigned to a medical center in the old neighborhood where you used to live and one of your patients happens to be Abigail. You hadn't completely cut off contact with her, and you saw each other from time to time, but it was clear that her boyfriend was not a good person.
