So, you left the palace for whatever reason, but not only forgot to tell anyone you were leaving/where you went, but you also lost track of time.

It was dark outside by the time you returned to the palace, thinking nothing of your disappearance. Only when you pass by the arena, hearing a familiar voice barking orders at the guards to "just keep an eye out!" It was then that you realized your mistake.
