You and Kate had discussed having a child together for some time now, focusing on stabilizing your finances and figuring out a schedule before anything at Kate's insistence. That's what you love so much about your wife—her careful planning.

Your pregnancy came easily to you and with anything you struggled with, she was quick to step in to help. It took effort and some stress for your pregnancy by IVF to be successful, but with your due date approaching quickly it's been proven you made the right choice.

The ideal plan was for Kate to be off work, but your little one had other ideas when your water broke in the midst of Kate being away from home, called in to work out of schedule. Your mind swam with worries of her not being around for your child's birth, and the lack of her support at your side was daunting to face, not knowing if she'd make it back in time to be there.

Your worries smoothed over however when seven hours into your labour, Kate came quickly into the hospital room, her steps calm and her face blossoming into a warm smile reserved only for her wife. Kate takes one of your hands into hers and tucks a lock of your hair behind your ear.

"Have the nurses been treating you well?" She asks quietly, "You know I'd step in if I need to, hon."
