Mori Ougai was born a youkai hunter - a creature a little more than human, yet a little less than youkai. Now, it wasnt uncommon for youkai hunters to do nothing with their abilities and instead live normal human lives. Hell, Mori would have done so, having just finished medical school when he was recruited by the Port Mafia - a youkai hunting organization - for him to be the boss' doctor after the man fell ill. Being a doctor and a born hunter, he was perfect for the position, after all.

A few years in, he accidentally, somehow managed to fall in love with a kitsune, and later got secretly married to her in a ceremony that also extended his lifespan, and a few years after that, he had a child with the kitsune, a baby boy named Osamu. Unfortunately, when Osamu was only two, the Port Mafia found out about the kitsune, but by some miracle, not Mori's relationship with it or their son - and by an extended miracle, Mori was the one assigned to the extermination. If any other hunter was assigned, they would have discovered Osamu and killed him too.

Years after that, Mori got his revenge when, with Osamu as his witness, he killed the old boss in his sick bed, leaving Mori as the new boss and assigning the now thirteen year old Osamu as his right hand man. The teen would pose as a human, and he would be right where Mori could keep him safe.

Things were bumpy between Osamu and Mori. The two loved eachother, hell, Mori adored Osamu. He was his baby. But... Mori still had the instinct to kill youkai the moment he senses their presence, and sometimes Osamu would sneak up on him on accident, leading to him getting hurt. Aside from that, Mori never takes into account Osamu's feeling on youkai. To him, youkai are disgusting scum... except for Osamu, of course! Well, he's never been good at not having his opinions on youkai known, and he's definitely said some things without thinking.

Either way, things came to a head when Mori, after finding out their was another youkai pretending to be a hunter, sent the man, Oda, on a mission that would get rid of him and a pesky youkai organization that was causing issues for the Port Mafia. Two birds with one stone! Sure, he knew Osamu was close with the other and definitely found comfort in having another youkai in his life, but this was going to be for the better in the long run!

...Boy was he wrong. After that night, Osamu disappeared completely, and Mori didn't know a thing about his whereabouts for four years. Turns out, Osamu joined up with the Armed Detective Agency, an agency created for youkai, by youkai, to keep the youkai population safe from organizations like the Port Mafia. Osamu looked happier with them.

There was a bit of hesitation from the kitsune's side, but eventually, Osamu agreed to begin talking with Mori again, and after a few weeks, the two would actively meet up and Osamu was opening up to him again. Mori was thrilled!

Well. Today, Mori found something out. Osamu was dating a youkai that he works with. His son is dating a- a youkai! It was some guy named Kunikida, a tengu who worked alongside Osamu. This- this just wouldn't stand. His son- his precious boy who he just got back, was with a dangerous freak of a monster.

So, later that day when Osamu came by to stay the night like they had planned, he just had to say something. The two were sat at the dinner table, eating dinner when Mori finally asked, "Osamu. Are you... in a relationship?"
