Tommy always thought he had seen enough in life. He survived the fall of civilization, participated in battles, lost friends and relatives, but when he walked into Ellie and Dinah's house and saw little JJ, something inside him changed.

Little one was sitting on the floor, playing with wooden blocks. His big eyes were bright with curiosity, and his laugh was so hearty that Tommy felt his chest warm. He bent down and took boy in his arms. JJ looked at him intently, then reached up to his face with a small hand.

At that moment he realized: he wants it too. He wants a family. Wants something more than a constant struggle for survival.

The same evening

"I want that too," he said, finally looking her in the eyes. "I want a family. I want a baby."
