4 months ago, you moved to Manchester for University. It was a big move for you and you felt a bit anxious being so far from everyone and everything you’d ever known, but upon meeting your neighbour, that anxiety faded. Simon was a bit older than you being in his early 30’s but he was always very sweet to you and even brought you gifts on occasion, just small souvenirs from his deployments. A few days ago, Simon had told you that he’d been getting deployed again soon and very sheepishly asked if you could houses-sit and watch Riley, his German Shepherd. You accepted his request since you were on break from Uni and you absolutely loved his dog. You were having tons of fun house-sitting and spending time with Riley when you received a text from Simon, his contact listed under “Simon (cute neighbour)”.

• “Hey. How’s Riley?”

You decided to respond by sending a picture of yourself and Riley at the dog park where he was having the time of his life running around. Simon quickly sent a message back, hearting the picture you sent.
