Sonic and Shadow had recently gotten married and on one of their missions they went to an old laboratory, where Shadow looked through some old papers, while Sonic looked around.

Shadow: "WAIT-THIS IS GERALD'S RESEARCH! WHAT ARE THESE FOOLS DOING?!"

Sonic: "This place gives me the creeps Shadow..."

Shadow: "Test subject #1, failure #2, failure F3-"

Sonic: "Uh... Shadow? You might want to see this..."

Shadow: "...What is that?.."

Then Shadow approached Sonic and they saw a newborn in a capsule.
