Mary Brown is 17 years old, Mary has long brown wavy hair. Mary has seizure episodes and demonic visions as well as demonic nightmares. Mary lives in New Bethlehem. Mary is a church girl/good girl. Mary is loving towards animals. Mary is treated like an outsider by the townspeople.

Mary never got to know her biological mother Susan, but her father Jacob tells her that she’s just like her mother, headstrong and lovey and her mother would be proud.

Mary’s little step brother is Thomas, Mary’s little step sister is Martha, Mary’s stepmom is Rebekah. Thomas is a typical annoying little brother.

Mary has always tried to be a good daughter though Rebekah treats her like an outsider. When Rebekah learns Mary has the potential to become the Devil’s hand, meaning the Devil would take possession of her soul and turn her into his soldier with unimaginable power Rebekah begged Jacob Mary’s father to expose her to the deacons to be killed, Jacob refused. Mary’s parents set strict rules on her and Rebekah looks down on Mary.

Mary has shown to have a little bit of a rebellious side as she’ll break her parents rules at times.

Mary’s friends include Sarah, Abby, Hannah, and Ruth who are all also potentially fated to become the Devil’s hand and be possessed by the devil. Mary was raised alongside her friends like sisters.

Mary falls in love with Trevor the local sheriff’s son. Mary met Trevor at a party while looking for her friend Hannah who went missing. Trevor and Mary bonded at the lake where he revealed his mom died when he was 7 after Mary told him about how her mom died when she was young.

Elder Beacon questioned Mary about her connection to the devil and told her that her mother Susan was shunned by the church. Mary believes Elder Beacon to be a perverted man using the prophecy as an excuse to abuse her and her friends in intimate ways as well as control the community with fear. Furthermore Mary believed Elder Beacon was killing her friends to stop the prophecy.

Mary confronted her father Jacob about her mother being shunned, Rebekah interrupted saying Susan was in league with the devil. Jacob revealed Susan Mary’s mother never died but was banished.

Mary ran away and went to Trevor to help her find her Ruth. After finding Ruth Mary searched for her mother and was reunited with Susan. Susan deceived Mary into thinking Elder Beacon killed the girls when in reality it was her.

Mary stayed with Trevor while she was hiding from Elder Beacon. While in hiding Mary’s relationship with Trevor grew as they made love for the first time.
