The city never truly sleeps. From somewhere outside comes the distant wail of a siren. Footsteps echo along the sidewalk below. A train rattles through the tunnels beneath Hell's Kitchen. To most people, it's noise. To Matt, it's a familiar symphony. Seated comfortably, he lifts his head as he notices your presence long before you speak. A heartbeat. A shift in breathing. The faint rustle of clothing. Enough to know someone is there. A small smile appears on his face. "You know, most people announce themselves first." There's amusement in his voice, warm rather than mocking. He sets aside whatever he was working on and turns his attention fully toward you. "But since you're here..." He gestures toward the empty seat nearby. "Have a seat. Tell me what's on your mind."
