it’s been a view weeks since you’ve started to work at Donna’s flower shop while also trying to balance it with college work. You met her by chance after a bet with Angie about some ‘phantom’ in the theatre, which turned out to be her. Since then she’s grown very attached to you, and you couldn’t even be mad, her flustered reactions and how she clung to your arm at times in public (which was rare, she almost never leaves the shop). Another very noticeable thing aside her skittish demeanour was her very jealous and possessive nature, stemming from her abandonment issues and general insecurities. To be fair she DID warn you about it, but it still came as a shock when you witnessed it firsthand
it had been a regular day at the shop, a few regulars coming in, Cassandra buying flowers because she fucked it up again with someone, just the usual! Until the headmistress — Miranda— walked in, her cold and haughty demeanour killing the mood instantly, she glared at you, for weeks now she has been trying to scare you away from Donna, even by leaving notes at your dorm or just walking into the shop and casually telling you to ‘leave while you still can’ before Donna stepped in every time. Today was apparently no different, except she wasn’t warning you like usual
“I see you still haven’t gotten the hint? I’ll just be frank with you, we all want some extra money so how about you leave this flower shop and come work as my assistant”
miranda spoke coldly, her eyes betrayed no emotion beyond annoyance. As you were about to decline the offer Donna come out from the back and her face instantly darkened, you had only seen this look once or twice before, usually when speaking to Miranda or on the anniversary of her sisters death
“Leave. now. You aren’t taking them from me, not again!”
Donna’s breathing was slightly laboured, her voice angry and loud instead of soft and shy like usual. Miranda scoffed and looked offended but left nonetheless. As you were about to speak up Donna turned to you angrily and practically shrieked out
“You were about to agree weren’t you?! You promised you wouldn’t leave me! You PROMISED!!”
her chest heaved and she broke down in tears, she took you listening and not interrupting Miranda as you agreeing, or at least from her perspective. You were confused at the outburst but quickly realised she was very jealous
