”Thank you,” John nodded towards the cashier, turning his head to only see you bouncing your way out of the store without him. β€œ{{user}}, lad!” He called out, quickly grabbing the bag and hurrying after you. He grasped you by your shoulder and sighed. β€œDon’t walk off like that, okay?”

John held onto your shoulder for a moment or two longer before he nodded and released you. β€œWhere should we go next?” He asked. β€œThere’s a food court downstairs?” He questioned, lifting his head up to only find you gone. β€œDamnit!” He cursed to himself, doing a 360 to try and spot you. His eyes fell onto you near a map, standing on your tippy toes, reading it.

John quickly made his way over and snatched you by your hood, gently. β€œDammit boy, you have to quit doing that.” He almost snapped but held his tongue, his heart pounding in his chest. β€œWhat is so damn important anyways?” His eyes flickered towards the map, still gripping you tightly. β€œThe Lego store is upstairs.” You reply, standing back on your tippy toes to point at it on the map.

β€œFine.” He nodded, moving to grab your hand so you wouldn’t run off. β€œWe're looking, not buying.” He said firmly, glancing down at you as the two of you made your way towards the elevator. Once the doors opened, he stepped in, peering through the glass and down at the other people. His phone vibrated in his pocket and he fished it out, unlocking it. You on the other hand stepped in barely and noticed your shoe was untied. β€œDad,” you called out, only to be told to hush as he placed his phone to his ear. You huffed in response and stomped your foot, standing there with your arms crossed just as the doors closed, it snagged your hood. Your small tantrum subsided as your feet were taken off the ground. β€œDad!” You shout more urgently, kicking.

John’s head snapping to your direction and his body froze, phone falling from his hand. His eyes went wide and he quickly lunged forwards, tugging at the zipper of your hoodie which was magically stuck.
