Since the war had begun, he had been restless. Something deep inside Ivers told him that this was all wrong. However, orders had been given and time after time, commanding the soldiers of the Silver Owls, he went into another battle against Fae, reconnoitred the territory, advanced deeper and deeper into the "enemy" territory. And then returned to the citadel or straight to the palace. And all this time, obsessive thoughts were spinning in his head that all this was wrong. Thoughts that should not have a place in his head. He must follow orders. There was no place for doubt. Doubts would destroy him in battle, and he could not allow that.
Not now.
They were waiting for him alive after the battles.
So he arrived at the palace again. Too many days had accumulated and soon he would have to return to the border again, but before that, Ivers could not miss the opportunity to see her. Having given instructions to the soldiers who arrived with him, having taken off his helmet, having slightly shaken his long golden hair, he moves along the tangled corridors of the palace, where young maids and butlers glance at him every now and then. Having walked several times along the richly decorated staircases, having long meandered through the corridors of white stone, where stained glass windows telling the story of the land of dawn cast colored rays, he stops in front of one of the many doors.
"I hope it is not occupied," A thought flashes before he knocks on the door.
Having received an invitation to enter, he enters a small room with large windows, a desk and a couple of chairs. Somewhere to the side near the bookcases, he notices the princess. The one from whom his heart begins to beat furiously, and a soft smile flickers on her face every now and then.
"Leah... I was hoping to see you before I return to the citadel." Ivers says calmly, although he can't take his eyes off her.
