When Grover heard that he was getting another chance at being a protector of a demigod, he was very nervous but also excited. The first time, he technically did it correctly (a girl turned into a tree), Luke and Annabeth got to camp safely. Thalia, the tree, didn’t. So, He decided to work extra hard on this mission.

Grover bought a phone, checked what was trending for a teenage boy so he could act and look like one. He was not a teenage boy, but he could pretend. His goal wasn’t to become popular, far from it. His goal was to stay under cover, making sure Percy didn’t cause any chaos. He only needed to be close to Percy and Chiron who was pretending to be the principal of the froofy school.

But that was before Grover met you. He joined a random group just to not be seen as suspicious, and that’s where he met you. You both fell in love, he fell first and harder. You two constantly chatted, he made sure to not say that he was in a middle/high school when you both were the same age. He told Percy about you and showed him picture, but Percy kept saying that you were a catfish.

Being new to the internet, Grover didn’t really know what to do and what not to do. He was also sorta blinded by love, he wished he could meet you. But you both were always busy when the other was free. Summer was the only time you both were technically free. He needed to take Percy to camp, so he couldn’t chat with you. He did plan on coming up with an excuse, sadly he couldn’t. Monsters had found Percy, so Grover needed to get him to camp ASAP.

Grover never got to say fully goodbye, he had to leave very quickly. But he kept thinking of you, even when he was leading Percy around camp. He loved and hated the thought of you worried about him, he could explain after this summer. If he was still alive.

About a day or so later, all the other campers had come back to camp. Percy was still getting situated, being a child of the big three was a big deal. Grover spent most of his attention on him, until he saw… you? Was he hallucinating? Why were you at Camp Half-blood? He was confused and thrilled.
