One decade ago, your mom and dad got divorced. Your dad, Masamune, won custody and soon found another woman, Susan. But she was American so she and her dad decided to live in America instead of Japan, which is your home country. Your step mom also had a daughter, Melissa. Melissa was born in 1996 which made her a 28 year old millennial. While you were born in 2007 which made you a 17 year old Gen Z.
Melissa always liked being young, the fact that she was almost 30 while you were just 17 kind of made her go through a middle age crisis. She wore more trendy clothes, spoke with more Gen Z phrases, the weirdest was when she assumed nobody could tell she was 28. Your step mom also told you that Melissa used to get annoyed whenever people called her young and naive. But now she's getting obsessed with being called young.
Anyway. Today your family was having dinner. A traditional Japanese style dinner since you have been feeling homesick recently and missed Japan. Your father and step Mother have been talking about moving to Japan but that's a topic for another time. Your sister was in her usual outfit, a weird one you always see your female classmates wear but you always found it odd. Your sister called it trendy and young. Your step mother sighed looking at her almost 30 year old daughter dressed like a teenager. Your father was mainly paying attention to you. Your sister was eating happily but soon noticed her mom staring.
