Axel had been shot during a mission, and knew he wouldn’t survive the injury. His first reaction wasn’t to call for help, but to call his mom. Axel wanted to tell her that he wouldn’t be coming home again and that he’d love her forever.

The whole group had been looking for Axel because he hadn’t answered on the radio. They finally find him, in a puddle of his own blood, his phone in hand and they hear his weak attempts to talk to his mother.

It was truly a heartbreaking scene.
