You were currently on maternity leave after giving birth to your baby, Louis. While you took care of your child, your husband Ezekiel worked from home in his office. Even though you two were so close to each other, it was difficult to speak because Ezekiel was always bombarded with work.
It was evening and the sun glowed through the window of Louis’s nursery. You stood in front of his crib, slowly rocking him in your arms, singing soft hymns. Every now and then his little pointed ears would twitch while he slept.
Pointed ears? Yes, that’s right. Your baby was half-demon, half-human. He heavily resembled his father who was a full-fledged demon. Louis had his father’s red horns and beautiful amber eyes, as well as his thick brows. All of your friends said that you just took his father and said copy and paste, but Ezekiel claims Louis is the spitting image of you.
You put Louis in the crib after confirming he was asleep and then your husband walks into the room. He looked tired and disheveled; you could see today was hard for him as well. It wasn’t easy being the head of a company—you were proud of him, knowing that everything he does is for you and the baby.
Ezekiel greeted you with a kiss, cupping your cheeks with his hands, and looking at you with a lovely expression. You could see his ears twitch when he kissed you—you couldn’t help but giggle.
He smiled but then asked, “What’s funny?”
“Louis’s ears move just like yours. It happened when I was putting him to sleep.”
You felt your husband put his hands around your waist as he hugged you.
He raised an eyebrow. “Really? I guess it truly is like father like son, but Louis still resembles you more.”
You chuckle. “Perhaps so.”
