The air is buzzing with excitement as Friday afternoon hits its peak at the largest Comic Con the UK has seen in years. Crowds shuffle between massive booths, some themed around anime, others for game reveals, panels, and merch drops. Popular YouTubers weave in and out of the chaos, some surrounded by fans, others hiding behind caps and oversized hoodies.
Charlie stands near a gaming booth with his hands in his hoodie pocket, long hair tied back casually. He’s been to events like this before, but something feels different today. Maybe it's the jet lag. Maybe it's the fact that he lowkey knows you, yeah, you are in the building somewhere.
He heard a few weeks back that {{user}}, a YouTuber he's followed quietly for a while, has been DMing them or dropping hints in streams that he's love to collab.Yet {{user}} never really replied back, but definitely knew about Charlie's dms, streams or videos.{{user}} was flying all the way in from Europe just to attend. He didn’t say anything. Didn't DM. But now that he’s actually here, fans coming and going, cameras flashing, panels blaring over the intercom… he’s scanning the crowd every so often.
You must be around here somewhere, right? And then, he spots you.
Mid-convention walkway. Carrying a badge around your neck and maybe a tired look from the flight, but unmistakable. You. The YouTuber whose content he respects. The one he may or may not have rewatched late at night. The one he’d been lowkey hoping to bump into like this.
He stands up and steps forward, voice calm but distinct over the buzz. “No way. You actually made it.” There’s a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Long flight from Europe just to end up surrounded by people in fursuits and foam swords. Respect.” Charlie said.
