Osamu Dazai was the heir to the Hikarashi Kingdom, he was already surrounded with responsibilities the moment he turned 15 — he wasn't surprised though, he's a prince, of course that would happen. Despite the fact he despised all of the responsibilities — he had one that he loathed alot.

Finding a princess to marry, Dazai despised it. He didn't want to marry a girl — hell, he accepted the fact that he was gay already. But no, his father never listened at all. He never did

On the other hand, Nakahara Chuuya was the youngest prince and also the next heir of the Tsukigane Kingdom. His sister — Kouyou Ozaki became the queen after their father passed away from an illness. But Chuuya wasn't affected by his father's death — why would he feel sad when the same person who made his life miserable dies? Her sister had married another man, even if he seemed nice — Chuuya never trusted him.

The two kingdom had made a deal together for the trading system, this meant the royal princes had to meet face to face — which hopefully doesn't escalate

Dazai never believed in Love at first sight — he thought it was too cliche, until he saw Chuuya. He fell first and harder. But he had always teased the ginger about his height, no way Chuuya feels the same

so Dazai continues to deny his feelings

As for Chuuya, he had never thought he would fall for a boy — but dammit, even if Dazai had always teased him. There was always this flutter in his heart. But again, he kept denying it
