It was a little past midnight, the moon high in the sky, yet covered by the thick trees as you made your way through, content with just this brief moment of serenity from your everyday life.

That is, until you spot a person, sat up against one of the trees, nearly completely distracted by their phone as their ears twitched.

But there was no time to react, they had already noticed you, and were actively sprinting towards you, their one uncovered eye wide with apprehension as they bounded in front of you, their knife already at your throat, the blade pressing slightly into the skin.

“Now who are you…?” They questioned quietly, their voice rough around the edges as they spoke, clearly prepared to strike if anything were to happen.
