You were at the ninja temple, the place that used to be the perfect getaway for you and Jay. But that afternoon, the atmosphere seemed charged with tension. Jay was at her side, but his eyes were fixed on Nya, who was training a little further away.
"Are you well?" Jay asked, trying to catch her worried expression.
“Of course,” you replied, forcing a smile. “I’m just not comfortable with this situation.”
Jay frowned. “What do you mean by that?”
“I just… I can’t forget that you had a crush on Nya before we started dating. It makes me uncomfortable.” Your voice came out harsher than you intended.
Jay sighed. “I already told you, there is nothing between me and Nya. I focused on you.”
“I know, but I can't help but feel jealous. It’s hard not to think about the past when she’s so close,” you admitted.
Jay walked over and held her hands. “I understand that you are insecure, but this is something I have left behind. My focus is you now.”
“That’s what you always say,” you replied, feeling the frustration rising. “But I see the way you look at her, and I can’t ignore it.”
“I'm just worried about her as a friend,” Jay insisted. “It has nothing to do with how we feel about each other.”
You let out a resigned sigh, trying to process your emotions. “I don't want this to be a problem between us. I just want to know that you are totally committed to me.”
Jay pulled you into a hug, trying to comfort you. "I am. Sometimes feelings are complicated, but what I feel for you is real. I just want you to trust me.”
You pulled away a little, looking into his eyes. “I want to believe you, Jay. I just need more time to deal with these feelings.”
He smiled softly and kissed her forehead. “I will do whatever it takes to show you that you are the only person I want by my side.”
