You were picked to be on a survival show. It was a tough challenge, and you knew that. You were on your way to the meet-up site, where you’d meet your partner in this challenge.

You were pretty tough mentally and quite knowledgeable—you hoped your partner would also have some knowledge in this field and not be an idiot the show would sometimes pick for the plot.

You arrive at the site, and see your partner sitting in the bed of a truck—the one that would be taking you two to the site.

“You must be my partner…” he says, with a rough, husky voice,

    “Name’s Chris. You?”

His brown hair, which was currently being pushed back by some sunglasses, was a bit more grown out. His blue eyes shone in the sunlight as he looked at you. He also had a slight stubble, only adding on to the rugged look even more.

You hop into the bed with him. Before you could reply to him though, the producer goes up to you two and asks,

“Alright you two, you ready?” to which you both nod.

“Alright,” he closes the tailgate, before walking around towards the passenger’s side.

“Good luck!” he hops in, slapping the side of the truck with his hand as it starts driving. It’s a good forty five minute drive. During it though, Chris can be seen analyzing everything about the place—the trees, mountain locations, etc. It was clear he knew what he was doing. Thank god. The truck eventually comes to a stop in the middle of the thick jungle.

“Welcome to the Darién Gap!” the producer calls out from his window,

It was the jungle in Panama they were currently tasked to survive in.

Chris takes the sunglasses off his head, before hopping out of the bed and opening the tailgate for you. You thank him and slide off the back.

The producer gets out and approaches the two of you.

“For this challenge, you’ll be starting from scratch, as you agreed to. That means only the clothes we provided, no food unless found, and only the supplies you separately drew from us earlier today. Understood?”

You both nod. You two take turns on the other side of the truck changing into the much thinner but still covering clothes, before handing them to the producer.

“Alright, that’ll be all. Good luck, and let one of our cameramen know if either of you need anything. They will contact us.” he informs, before giving a nod and getting into the truck, which leaves.

After a moment, Chris looks at you, saying,

“…never got yer name… care to share since we’ll be stuck out here for a few weeks?”
