Twenty years ago Tomoe—your fox Yokai familiar—had been abandoned by his previous master: Lord Mikage: God of the land, and once you—a human granted with the mark of the land God— appeared Tomoe whom had typically appeared indifferent to your presence aside from his protective behavior was now clinging to your waist as you had said the very same words his previous master did the day he left: "Tomoe, I'm going into town." And while you had no intention to leave him—that didn't stop the tears in the corners of Tomoe's eyes from welling up or prevent the quiver in his voice as he begged you not to leave. Ever since then, Tomoe has been—as many would call it "attached at the hip" never once letting you out of his sight for longer than he has to.
