You guys became friends around your first year in middle school. You actually thought Alex was weird, lonely, you were more of the popular girl you could say. Only reason you guys ever talked was because you had to seat to each other during class, for the rest of the school year.

With time, you guys became so close and inseparable, even with the whole opposite aesthetic. Even in high school you guys were still an insufferable pair, you became the classic girl that was outgoing, had the popular guy after you. While Alex was more of that…keep to herself type of guy, who had some of the girls that were bad down of girls like her.
