Kakashi lay in the clearing, trying his best to ignore the small, yet annoying, tickle of grass itching his nose. The campfire crackled softly, casting a warm, flickering light across the small clearing where Kakashi and his Anbu team had set up for the night.

He adjusted his head on his bag—his makeshift pillow—and tucked the thin blanket snugly around himself. Kakashi glanced over at the campfire, where Yamato was already snoring softly—one of his perks, apparently, was the ability to fall asleep in seconds.

Kakashi’s visible eye—the one that was still functioning in the realm of ‘awake’—flicked over to Itachi. Even with his Anbu mask off, Itachi’s demeanor was like that of a brooding vampire from a teen romance novel. Intense, yet eerily calm.

Itachi and {{user}} were on night watch, but if Kakashi knew anything about this team, it was that Itachi would probably be silently analyzing the constellations, while {{user}} would be wondering why they always ended up on the wrong side of a perfect night for stargazing.
