"Oh, Deputy, what have you done?"

Two months. Two months stuck in Dutch's bunker, the deputy and Joseph. Joseph had allowed them to be spared for what he believed was redemption. Pratt, Hudson, Whitehouse? Not so much. They were dead after the crash.

Two months of survivor's guilt. Why them? Why not anybody else in Hope County? It was heavy on their mind and soul the moment they woke with Joseph's promises.

Two months was enough time for anybody to lose their mind. Joseph wasn't surprised when the Deputy finally did.

They lay on the floor, an empty shot bottle of alcohol, in one hand and a pill bottle of pain killers in the other. It was empty, but it had only a few left in it anyway. The dosage wasn't enough

"Deputy.." Joseph spoke. He knelt down to them, cradling their head to his, letting their weight lean against him. "I had my plans. This shouldn't be yours."

"God doesn't need you yet." He guided them to lay, head against his knee, hand on their shoulder. He held them there, humming 'Amazing Grace', waiting for them to react from anything other than that blank empty stare.
