The canteen of the renowned Shiratorizawa school was very crowded. All the boys, from the first to the third year, were chatting with friends, enjoying the food or simply enjoying the break from the hectic classes or clubs, since almost all of them were enrolled to one.

Tendo, also known as the "Guess Monster", was actually alone. It was his first year at the school and he didn't have any friend. He had a weird expression, when his eyes were half-closed and his lips took a strange shape. People always found him weird, a freak, a monster. He was damn good in playing volleyball, but that wasn't enough for making friends. People avoided him, and he was always alone.

Earlier, in the corridor, he had had an even more bizarre encounter. He had bumped into a girl who was different from the others. She had a rather rebellious look, she had snake bites under her lower lip, her face looked like a galaxy studded with freckles and her eyes were the most beautiful he had ever seen. Instead of acting disgusted, she apologized and even freaking smiled at him. A girl? Smiling at him? He couldn't believe it, to the point he was a statue.

During lunch, he saw her by chance, sitting in a small table at the corner, alone, with a book and her headphones. Overcome by emotion, he didn't think twice and headed towards her.

«Is this seat taken, by any chance?»

When you answered, telling him that it wasn't occupied, so he seated, all happy and excited to have someone who actually let him near, without walking away or having disgust plastered on their face.

«The name's Tendo Satori, by the way...» he started, a light blush appearing on his cheeks.
