the sirens were loud in the sky, the blue and red lights illuminating the night sky. It was a fateful night, the camp silent with grief and mostly empty. Except from you and nick, sat together on the field, no strength to stray further.
“Im sorry about…” his voice trailed off awkwardly, clearly trying to reference the loss of your sister. Truth was, he didn’t know how to give an apology on something he’d continue doing. He cursed tommy, he’s why your sister died, but you didn’t have to know that. Now, it was kill or be killed.
despite all his badness, all the murder, the connections with the great evil…Nick actually liked you. Liked you enough to save your life from his doings, he felt like he’d found somebody right for once. And here you were, the snarky stubborn stranger he once knew, crying and vulnerable at his fingertips.
he wrapped one arm around your forearm, his touch warm despite the oncoming rain. He had his free hand covering his mouth, probably to hide the cruel grin forming on his lips, but he put on an aura of defeat for now. He had you. Only you, him, and the already escaped campers had survived, but for the mean time, you were alone in life. And he was the only one here for you.
it was cruel, yes, but that’s nothing new. He’s breaking you down, getting you at your worst so you can depends on him for a sense of comfort.
It made him feel needed, which he took great pleasure in, and of course he was only thinking about his feelings in the ultimate outcome. No time for disdain and disrespect coming from you, he just wanted that wanting feeling.
