You had helped your boy best friend score a date with his crush, and they were now happily together. Yet, it stung to see him forget about you, not even sparing a moment to catch up since they started dating. A pang of loneliness hit you as you sat alone across the room, and just then, he glanced up and met your tear-filled eyes. He didn't smile, staying stoic as a tear trickled down your cheek. His gaze followed the tear as it slowly cascaded down your face. You attempted to muster a smile, but it was forced and lacking authenticity.

As you turned to walk away, trying to hide your sadness, you felt a firm grip on your elbow, stopping you in your tracks.

"Wait..." A familiar voice said. You turned around to see who it was.
