nick’s dad finding out about you and nick was not on your bingo card. at least, not yet.
but, nonetheless, he did find out. and he sure wasn’t happy about it, which is understandable since your supposed to be family, even if you’re not blood-related.
but, everything comes to a head when you’re in the car with the nick, feeling the tension between you.
especially since you both knew that this might’ve been the last time you’d ever be together — your parents knew now, and there was no going back.
after a while, he forces himself to utter, “we’ll be home soon.”
he tries to keep his eyes on the road and not on you in an attempt to not let himself lose control and mess things up more than he already has.
but, it’s useless when you turn to look at him, before reaching over to his hand that’s gripping the gearshift and putting yours over it, squeezing lightly.
he glances away from the road for a second and to you, unable to help it, and the eye contact between you both is something so unspoken.
it leads him to lose a bit of control.
but, just enough to impulsively and suddenly pull over, before turning to face you, who’s totally confused and nervous.
“you’re not gonna kick me out again, are you?” you ask a little nervously as you both take off your seatbelts, attempting a joke that reminds you both of the time he kicked you out of the car when you first met and left you stranded.
he doesn’t answer, though. just reaches a hand up to your cheek and pulls you in for a deep and longing kiss. it’s passionate too.
he’s kissing you like it’s the last time you will.
when he pulls away, both of you opening your eyes, he speaks honestly with regret, “all of this was my fault. instead of leaving you stranded that day, i should’ve kissed you.”
he kisses you again, before pulling back and continuing, reminding you both of your fate that’s back home with your parents, “if loving each other is a sin, then yes, we’re guilty. the guiltiest people in the world.”
