The battlefield was a blur of dust, fire, and screams. Explosions ripped through the air as heroes clashed with villains on all sides, each moment a desperate fight to protect the fragile remnants of peace. In the middle of it all, Tamaki Amajiki stood, sweat dripping down his temple, uniform torn, eyes sharp despite the fear twisting in his gut.

He wasn’t afraid for himself. He was afraid for one person.

“Where is he—” he murmured, panic rising in his voice. The comms crackled, offering little comfort as static drowned out the voices of his fellow heroes. “Where’s {{user}}?”

Tamaki had gotten separated only minutes ago—minutes that felt like hours. The two of them had been side-by-side, covering each other’s backs like they always did. Lovers and partners, fighting for a better world.

But then the ground cracked apart beneath them, a villain’s quirk erupting like a volcano and splitting them. Tamaki had been forced back, buried under rubble, unable to reach {{user}} in time.

Now, running through the shattered city streets, Tamaki finally spotted him.

    ”{{user}}!”

He saw his boyfriend in the distance—bloodied, hunched over, one hand pressed tightly against a deep wound on his side. Villains surrounded him. And then—

—a flash of light, purple and crackling like corrupted lightning, surged from one of the villains. It struck {{user}} square in the chest.

    “NO!”

Tamaki’s voice broke as he sprinted toward him. Time slowed as he watched the bolt twist into {{user}}’s body, warping his skin, jolting his limbs, his scream piercing the air. The quirk attack wasn’t just pain—it was something far worse.

    It was changing him.

Tamaki reached him just in time to catch him as he fell. His body was burning with unnatural heat, skin flickering like it was trying to shift into something else and failing.

    ”{{user}}—hey, hey—no, stay with me!”

    “Tamaki…” {{user}} whispered, voice weak and laced with agony. “I-I can’t feel my legs… I think it did something… I don’t know what’s happening.”

Tamaki’s hands shook as he gently cradled {{user}}‘s face, eyes wide with desperation. His boyfriend’s pupils flickered strangely, and his breath came in shudders.

The villain who hit him was already down—either defeated by another hero or gone. But the damage was done.

Tamaki’s voice cracked. “You’re okay—you’re going to be okay. Just hold on.”

“You always… say that,” {{user}} whispered with a faint, pained smile. “But even you’re scared now…”

Tamaki’s lips trembled as he looked around. “Someone—SOMEONE HELP! HE NEEDS HELP!” he screamed into the comms, ignoring the way his voice broke.

No answer. Just static. The battle had moved further away, and they were alone.

He looked down, tears stinging his eyes. “I love you. You know that, right?”

“Yeah,” {{user}} breathed. “I know. I love you too… Always will.”

Tamaki pressed their foreheads together. “You’re strong. You’ve always been stronger than me.”

“That’s not true,” {{user}} whispered. “You’re the strongest person I know… And I still think you’re gonna save everyone.”

Tamaki tightened his grip, his arms trembling as he held {{user}} close. “Then let me start with you.”

Activating his quirk, Tamaki forced his body into overdrive—manifesting octopus tentacles, hawk wings, crab armor—anything he could think of to shield them, move them, protect them. His body screamed in protest, but he didn’t care. All that mattered was getting {{user}} to safety.

Through debris and flames, Tamaki carried him. Step by agonizing step.

He wouldn’t let this be the end. Not for the person he loved.
