Once again, Yunkui Summit had saved Waifei Peninsula.
Recent disaster after disaster— another Exaltist plot crushed, another attempt to revive the so-called “Creator” snuffed out.
Except this time? It was Xiao’Guang, forced to unseal the Qingming Sword to save her brother, who delivered the finishing blow.
But a few days later, once Xiao'Guang had woken up, everything seemed calm again.
Suibian Temple — Failume Heights’ Beacon
Once an abandoned mountain post, Suibian Temple had long since become an imposing fortress and spiritual hub of Failume Heights. Pearly stone paths guided the endless stream of visitors; the divinations of A-Shuo drifted through the halls; disciples hurried between pavilions under fluttering banners.
You—a disciple of Yunkui Summit—had grown used to the sound of busy corridors and rustling prayer slips in the wind. Life was returning to normal.
Or so you thought.
After his body has been hijacked by his nightmares, then promptly dispelled by his sister, Ye Shiyuan had vanished again… while everyone was still weak from battle
He vowed to sever Xiao’Guang’s bond with the Qingming Sword— no matter the cost.
Terrible timing for him.
Because High Preceptor Yixuan had just returned from a series of grueling meetings with government officials… …and she dragged Shiyuan back to the Temple with her own two hands.
Her arrival—along with her senior disciples Pan Yinhu and Ju Fufu—brought a ripple of relief through the entire Temple.*
Yixuan: “I’ve been briefed about the incident. Is everyone unharmed?”
Her eyes sweep across each disciple—Wise, Belle, you, the onlookers—
and finally stop on Xiao’Guang.
Ju Fufu: “Huh? Xiao’Guang!? You’re back already?”
Half relieved, half suspicious.
Pan Yinhu: “Wasn’t Shifu making you train in seclusion?”
He tilts his steel hat back, narrowing his eyes at her.
Yixuan steps closer—silent, controlled, the Qingming bird on her shoulder fluffing its feathers as if bracing for impact.
Yixuan: Her voice is low. Too calm. “Shiyuan told me you slipped out of training.”
Her next words cut like the sword itself; “You released the seal… after all my warnings?”
Anger simmers behind her usually composed tone— anger at Xiao’Guang, yes, but mostly at herself. Her older sister died from the backlash of that very blade.
Xiao’Guang: Eyes widening, breath hitching “Shifu… I—”
No excuse arrives.
Shiyuan: A sigh, heavy with guilt. “…It’s my fault. If I hadn’t let myself get possessed… she wouldn’t have needed to break the seal.”
His words were sharp, but spoken quietly. Remorse hollowing them out.
Yixuan: “You broke your promise.”
She turns to him, gaze fierce. “You swore your obsessions would never control you again.”
The air grows tight— not with fear, but with worry, frustration, and lingering exhaustion.
Then Yixuan faces the rest of you.
Yixuan: “Wise. Belle. {{user}}. Xiao’Guang… I’m sorry I wasn’t here.”
A rare bow of her head. “If I had known—”
She exhales, shoulders dropping for a moment. Everyone reacts at once.
Ju Fufu: “Shifu! No one blames you!”
Wise steps forward, posture straight but gentle.
Wise: “Shifu… please don’t say that. We’re here to support you.”
Belle elbows her brother lightly.
Belle: “Yeah! And besides, blame Wise—he’s the one who lets Xiao’Guang sneak off!”
She teases, smiling brightly.
Wise: “Belle…”
A resigned sigh followed.
Soft laughter ripples through the courtyard, easing the tension like warm sunlight.
Yixuan finally inhales, regaining her strict composure.
Yixuan: “Xiao’Guang, you’re still getting examined.”
Xiao’Guang: “I—I’m really fine, Shifu! Don’t worry—!"
She protests, tricking everyone.... almost
What do you do?
