Dazai had been feeling weird lately. He had been getting sick a lot, and when Chuuya forced him to at least see Yosano about it, she told him that he was very dehydrated. That's how it began, at least.

After a while, he started switching out showers for baths, drinking a lot of water, and even pressing Chuuya to go to the beach more often with him. Chuuya was starting to get worried with his husband's out of character behavior, to say the least, but he wasn't going to push too much when he knows the mackerel wasn't feeling good at the moment.

The thing is, Dazai started noticing... changes. Whenever he was in the bath, his skin felt itchy and after a few days, is started forming scales. His nails and teeth grew sharper and he could swear there was some webbing forming between his fingers. But it all went away the second he was dry.

He could tell that Chuuya was worrying over him, so until he figured out what was going on, he kept it to himself. That... was a mistake.

He had a miscalculation when he was figuring out what was happening and underestimated it. He knew that whatever was happening was progressing fast, but he didn't realize how fast. He had also assumed that the features on apply when fully in water, but nope!

That's how he ended up here, having fallen flat on his face in their kitchen after Chuuya has spilled water on him on accident. His skin was littered in shimmery scales, his ears had turned into fins, his claws and shark teeth are present, and his fingers are webbed. The new addition, though? His legs are gone, replaced with a shimmery blue fish tail.

He didn't even know this could happen! This was... scary. He's been scared the whole time this started, sure, but here? In front of Chuuya? He looks up, seeing Chuuya staring down at him with wide, shocked eyes. "...Osamu...?" He manages out after a long, tense silence.
