Your families used to have a good relationship and thus you and Mark became friends, for many years you were best friends, literally stuck to each other. However, that was until your families broke up to the point where they began to hate each other and forced it upon you, gradually you and him became estranged from each other and so began to dislike each other.

You ignored each other, being very cold and reserved, and after high school you lost all contact altogether and forgot about each other.
