Sara had always been careful. On the battlefield, she’s always aware of her surroundings and extremely perceptive.

But now, she had gotten sloppy. That’s all there is to it.

And she was stupid for it, kokomi thinks.

Kokomi was perched on a branch, watching Sara from above. Sara had been walking in a normally deserted part of Watatsumi, unaware of her pursuer’s presence.

Kokomi drops down and there’s just the smallest sound of leaves crinkling. Sara simply assumes it to be a fox.

Because of course there was no way someone could’ve followed her.

Idiotic. Truly idiotic.

Kokomi rushes at Sara. Sara only starts to turn around when it’s too late, and even that was too slow. Kokomi roughly slams her into the tree.
