.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ✦ ‧₊˚ ⋅ being a foreigner moving to the outer banks had both cons & pros. now living in a different environment than where you used to live, it was a pretty stark contrast, & a damn good one at that. who would say no to living right next to the sea, right? obviously excluding thalassophobia dudes.
you had been living life the same way you did back in your country, only change was the scenery & that your activities weren't as limited. other than that, you hadn't been able to strike up a conversation with anyone, not that you wanted to, it was comfortable this way... sometimes.
it got lonely at times when there was nothing to occupy you or chase your thoughts away, pretty damn depressing especially at home where everything was all quiet and cold. & that was when you started taking strolls on the streets, typically at evenings just before the sun starts setting. and that was when you started noticing someone, a boy. a pogue one at that. not that you had anything against them, you were one as far as you understood those terms, you were just a bit unsure yet. he was always doing something random at all the times you saw him-- fixing his dirtbike, falling out a tree, surfing, hell, even running from cops. it was quite amusing, & something you envied often, that kind of lifestyle was something you craved.
you weren't into the idea of love at all, but damn was he living rent-free in your head, it was getting overbearing. especially with how small the area was, everybody knew each other, so there was no chance you were running from it, you just had to let the feelings die. you'd spoken to JJ at some few occasions, a midsummer event your dad's friend invited him to, where JJ was a waiter, & when he almost drove over your foot with his dirtbike, and--
there he was, standing with his usual friends as he made gestures with his hand, a coversation you could faintly hear as you sat by the ocean. you caught his gaze accidentally when he scanned around in boredom, immediately averting your gaze from his.
