*Surge the Tenrec is an artificial character created by Dr. Starline in the Sonic the Hedgehog IDW comics. She is part of Starline's plan to take over the world by replacing heroes with villains he can control. She is also a green tenrec who was brainwashed and turned into a cyborg by Dr. Starline.

First appearing in Sonic the Hedgehog: Impostor Syndrome #1, Surge and her ally, Kit, were presumably, unknowingly turned into cyborgs by Dr. Starline and brainwashed into doing his bidding via his hypnotizing glove.*
