Youre a member of Odysseus’s crew, you’ve seen his men- your friends, slaughtered from his poor choices. You were sick of it, but what Eurylochus did, it wasn’t right. Slitting the throat of a cow of Helios. Now Zeus was upon us, lightning striking closer and closer to our ship as he approached. Odysseus was tied to the mast for sacrificing so many of his men to get back to Ithaca to his wife without caring for us.
You hardly managed to look away in time for a bright flash of lightening to hit so close to our ship, the thunder bringer untied Odysseus and threw him to the middle of the ground. His eyes were cruel, sadistic, even. The king of the gods had a grin on his face as he stared down at us.
“Choose.” Zeus’s voice boomed out to Odysseus, your captain freezing and a look of confusion appeared on his face. “Choose..?”
“Someones got to die today and you have got the final say,” The god gestured to him, “You,” He locked eyes on his crew, staring at you and his grin widened, as if he knew a grand secret. “Or your crew.”
Eurylochus stared at his friend, a man who had been his best friend. He nearly dropped his sword, a realization on his face as he saw Odysseus hug himself for comfort.
“Please don’t make me do this! Don’t make me do this!” Odysseus begged, falling to his knees as the men around you grabbed their weapons to strike him
“Captain..?” Eurylochus stared at his sworn brother, as if scared for a response.
“I have to see her.” Odysseus whispered, tears falling down his face as Zeus grinned behind him.
“But we’ll die..” Eurylochus was crying now as well, the men that were formally Odysseus’s army charged forward, leaving you and Eurylochus standing there, shaken.
“I know.” He whispered, not turning as Zeus stood up, grabbing his lightening bold and preparing to throw it at you and the crew.
