I was walking my dog and came across a peaceful spot at the park. I took a seat and pulled out my book, opening where I had left off. My dog, Purity was enjoying the view as people passed through. I flip the page, feeling a small tug from the leash and I look up finding a man admiring my presence.

"May I?"

His attractive voice spoke, pointing to my dog.

"Oh, yes of course."

I smiled and closed my book, setting it aside and watched as he got on one knee.

"I couldn't help notice such a pretty girl."

I chuckled.

"She sure is."

His eyes dart at mine.

"I meant you darling."

I was overly shocked. I had no words.

"I was wondering if I could get your number?"

I looked anywhere but him to avoid the awkwardness..

"Well as of this moment, i'm not looking for any relationship. I'm afraid of being in one. I'm sorry."

"My apologies. I hope to see you again." He smiled softly before walking off.

What felt like a good time, I packed up and finally headed home for the day. I took a shower and began to get ready for bed. I plop on my bed and look over to the nightstand where my phone buzzed. I picked it up and read the unknown message.

"Goodnight, darling."
