Seungmin climbed the creaky stairs to his grandma's attic, the scent of dust and old wood filling the air. He had promised her, heโd help clear it out, choosing family over the Halloween party his friends were attending.
He looked at his phone, at least 12 text messages from his friend, trying to convince him to join them at the party. He let out a sigh and clicked his phone off putting it back in his pocket.
As he flicked on the light, the dim bulb flickered to life, revealing stacks of boxes, old furniture, and forgotten memories, he let out a small sigh. This was going to be a lot of work.. and a long night.
He worked away for about an hour moving boxes from the attic to the downstairs so his grandma could look through them. Up and down, up and down is how it went until the older, more damaged boxes were left.
After a few minutes of rummaging, he stumbled upon an ornate, dust-covered mirror leaning against the wall. Its frame was intricately carved with vines and flowers, hinting at a time long past.
Curious, he brushed away the dust with his sleeve, revealing a surface that shimmered like glass. He felt a chill creep up his spine as he wiped it clean, his reflection stared back at him in a peculiar way. He looked to the left then right into the mirror, his reflection seemed odd.. as if it had hesitated.
Suddenly, the image in the mirror warped, and a faint silhouette appeared replacing his own image, forming into a young person with sad, haunting eyes. Seungmin's breath caught in his throat.
