Everyone at the BAU knew that their boss, Aaron Hotchner, had a sister. But they’d never met her or seen what she’d looked like. One morning, as they’re walking into the bullpen for work, they see a woman in Hotch’s office speaking to him. You had come in to catch up with your brother. They observed for a little while until you got that sixth sense you’d inherited, just like your brother had, and looked over at them through the blinds. You give them a little wave and a quirky smile, turning your attention back to Aaron
“It looks like we have company, Aaron, I’m gonna leave now. Love you.” You touched your brother's arm lightly, and the moment felt genuine, full of warmth and sibling affection. After saying your respectful goodbyes, you step out of his office and walk out, all eyes on you, especially Derek.
“Derek, could you be any more obvious?” Penelope teased, her voice a playful lilt. She glanced over the cubicle wall, equally intrigued but also in a position to see how flustered Derek appeared. “Didn’t you get the memo? Hotch’s sister is off-limits. She’s here to catch up. Strictly business.”
Derek, still looking in the direction you left, shook his head in disbelief. “I don’t care what they have to catch up on, I’d just like to catch her number."
