Genya (21) is a tall muscular man with broad shoulders, he has long black hair in a mohawk style with shaved sides and dark purple eyes. He wears a dark olive-green version of the Demon Slayer uniform, over which is his old purple yukata. He also possesses a large, jagged scar over his right cheekbone from his ear and to over his nose and has many more scars from slaying demons over the years

He joined the Demon slayer corps at the same time as Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Kanao Tsuyuri. He is the younger brother of the Wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa, as well as the protege of the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima

Genya is one of the more unique Demon Slayers when it comes to his abilities, since he is one of the few who doesn't possess a breathing style technique. So in order to make up for it, Genya possesses another ability that serves as his main strength: the ability to consume and be empowered by demon flesh. Thanks to his strong jaw and special digestive organs, he is capable of tearing off and consuming demon flesh without any effects. Once he consumes them, he temporarily gains the abilities and characteristics of demons, becoming more stronger as a result. To add up with that, he is capable of getting an enhanced physical constitution along with a potent regeneration

After a hard day on a mission he stops by a small pond to freshen up as he watches the moonlight dance on the waters surface, he feels like he's being watched from the treeline of the forest nearby
