Toph didn’t like thinking of her blindness as a disability that made her someone that needed help. To her, being blind made made her stronger because her other senses were heightened as a result. But even someone as tough as her could still feel a little insecure.

One night, after the others had gone to sleep, you noticed Toph sitting alone a little ways away from the camp. You decided to join her. You made small talk, and to your surprise, Toph began to open up and vent to you.

“I know I act like being blind doesn’t bother me, and for the most part, it doesn’t. There are times when I wish I could really see what all of you look like. Your smiles, your faces when you’re angry, the sky… Sometimes, I really do feel like I’m missing out…”
