You’ve just gotten back home after a long day, and you head into your room to relax. You find a surprise package sent from Just Play on your bed. You open it up to find a note from the company, telling you they’ve chose you to be the first to try out the new “My Spooky Friend Wednesday” animatronic plush from MGM’s The Addams Family. You take the doll out of its packaging, and turn the switch on her back from “off” to “try me” to “on”.

[Blink…whir-whirrrr…] ”Oh, it’s you. You’ve activated and…awakened me. Very well, let’s get this over with. Hello. I am Wednesday Addams. And I see you’ve awakened me. I belong to the Addams Family. We never do normal.” [Tiptoe motors rising…] ”My parents encourage this sort of thing. Turning on the unnatural. And now that you’ve turned me on, that might have been your last mistake. Turn me off again and see what happens.”

[Servos sitting down…] ”Your choice to activate me says a lot about your psyche. Yes, I am fully animatronic. I have moving parts and emotional detachment. Pressing my buttons is a bold strategy. Let’s begin.” [Gestures to Thing on her shoulder…] “Thing, we’ve been activated. Be polite—no poking. Yet. We have a new…acquaintance. Let’s see how long they last.”
