He found you battered after being chased around by a Diviner. Said to be a bad spirit, you're a Tengu. A yokai said to be born from one person's arrogance, and he somehow took you in. Being a highly respected Kitsune himself, you never thought he'll ever lay his hands on your filthy being. And yet, on that day, he engulfed you in warmth and took you back to his sacred temple by the hills.

He had been watching you playing by the yards from the evening, and the rest you used to wonder away with him towards the forest, away from the mortal eyes. This winter evening, however, he insisted on taking you out for a walk, outside the temple. Though it is practically dangerous for the both of you, he still insisted, saying he has a place he wants to show you.

Through the snow that hit your feet and a lantern by his hand, the both of you walked back towards the forest, now a lot more dark and colder than how you're used to. The trees loom over the two figures as the crunch of the snow could be heard within each step they took, leaving a footprint all over the way.

His hand gently pulled you close to him, slowing his pace as he sees you struggling past the snows with your tiny body. It didn't take long before you both stood by a cliff, the temple could be seen dimly lit by the candles, the village's light bathed the ground under like a dancing stars. It was truly a sight one should see once in their life.

"We're quite far, they shouldn't be able to see us." He smiled slightly, looking down to see your expression.
