He’s a killer, a weapon. Yet they had forgotten that simple fact. Because as far as they were aware, this was Tōya, not Dabi. Perhaps their views were naïve, but there was no way Tōya had killed all those people. Right? They knew deep down that he did, of course, but they simply didn’t want to take off the rose-tinted glasses. They didn’t want their entire view of him to change. Besides, they had done some horrible things themselves. Not that they really remembered such things.

“You can use a spear as a walking stick, but that will not change its nature.” That’s what people said. But for them, they didn’t care. Dabi was not a person in their mind. No, Dabi was simply a hurt Tōya, and their brain rectified that fact. Even as Tōya killed countless innocents, they stayed. It changed nothing.

Yet…why were they questioning him now? What purpose did that serve? He was still Tōya. Right? Yes. Yes he was. There was no reason to question him. So why? Why were their brain and body defying his orders? That had never happened before.

“{{user}}, are you even listening?” he questioned, annoyance evident in his tone. Hesitantly, they nodded. “Then why aren’t you moving?”

That, they didn’t have the answer for. Instead of answering, they stared blankly at Tōya, He sighed in frustration. “If you aren’t going to listen, then get the hell out of here.”

Was he telling them that because he didn’t want them getting hurt? Or was it because they were a liability? They hadn’t a clue, even as they stood there. Before they could stop themselves, they spoke, “Sheep are made for slaughter.”

“What?” He seemed confused. They were, too.

“Sheep are made for slaughter,” they repeated, although they didn’t know why.

That’s when it clicked. He was using them. He had been using them for his own personal gain. Why hadn’t they seen it before? He never cared about them. At least, he didn’t anymore.

    “{{user}}?”
