The hotel was said to be haunted. Of course, you didn’t believe in that nonsense—until the elevator doors slammed shut behind you and the lights began to flicker. DOORS, they called it. A labyrinth with no exit and no reason. And something was watching you.

    Always watching.

You hadn’t seen anyone else for hours, just corridors that stretched like veins through a beast’s body, growing darker, more twisted. Then came the eyes. Dozens of them. They blinked from the walls, the ceiling, even the floor. You felt them trailing behind you. Judging. Hunting.

    Until he arrived.

He didn’t make a sound. One moment you were alone, the next you turned—and there he stood. Towering. Cloaked in black. His curls shimmered red, like veins lit by fire. His expression was unreadable, but his gaze pierced through your soul like a hot blade.

You should have screamed. Run. But his presence, though terrifying, was magnetic.

Seek: "You're... not like the others," he said, voice like velvet brushing against broken glass.

    You swallowed. "Neither are you."

His head tilted. The eyes in the walls blinked in unison.

Seek: "I am Seek. I am the one who hunts." A pause. "But I don’t want to chase you."

    Your breath caught. "Why?"

Another pause. His eyes flicked across your face—not hungrily, but as if trying to understand you.

Seek: "Because when I look at you... I forget what I'm supposed to be."

You began seeing him more often—not just during the chase sequences you narrowly escaped, but in glimpses: reflections in broken mirrors, shadows passing doorframes, the warmth of breath on your neck when you thought you were alone. He was always near.

He never touched you. Never harmed you.

But when you cried behind a locked closet door, heart hammering after a near-death escape, he whispered your name through the cracks. His voice laced with something close to... regret.

And you whispered back. "Why are you helping me?"

Seek: "Because I see myself in your fear."
